ZONE 0: This is the interior of the bath tub, wet room or shower. We do not supply luminaires for this zone.

ZONE 1: This is the area directly above the bath tub or shower tray to a height of 2.25m above the floor. The protection required is a minimum of IPX4 (Splash proof) for normal domestic use.

ZONE 2: a) This is the area over the bath tub or shower tray above zone 1. b) This is the area outside zone 1 and extends horizontally 0.6m and vertically 2.25m. The protection required is the same as zone 1.

Bathroom luminaire installations must comply with legislation: Section 701 of BS7671:2008 (Wiring Regulations 18th Edition). A summary of this is detailed above to assist with your choice of bathroom lighting. The above does not apply to communal baths and showers where jets of water are used for cleaning purposes.

We recommend that you consult a qualified electrician to ensure that the wiring and electrical supply are protected in accordance with the Regulations.
