Taking his father’s passed down knowledge and many years of experience owning a number of lighting shops in various provinces of South Africa, Frank Lissauer decided to relocate to the United Kingdom and establish Franklite in 1973. O nce upon a time…

The family owned business has achieved significant milestones over the 50 years which include moving to a much larger purpose built factory in 1990 after quickly outgrowing the previous premises. The new premises has allowed for an in-house laboratory which holds state of-the-art lighting technology which very few other lighting manufacturers within the UK possess. An expansive warehouse and assembly area where products and parts undergo stringent quality control and finally an exquisite showroom.

Growing and developing the business over the years took dedication and countless hours of hard work by Frank Lissauer but these responsibilities were eventually shared when his son, Mark Lissauer joined the business in 1999.

Franklite has a story to tell. Franklite remains at the forefront of the lighting industry with incredible in-house technology and highly-skilled design and technical teams who continue to develop signature products. In-house DESIGN CAPABILITIES With talented lighting designers we are able to provide bespoke services to our clients. Starting with concepts in the form of hand drawn sketches which are followed by the ability to create 3D digital models of these designs using software such as Autodesk inventor. Highlighting design features and details through rendered images showcase the unique selling points of each product.

IFC FILES IFC files are available for all our products. This file format can be uploaded into the Revit software making it easy for architects, engineers and construction professionals to model our fittings with accuracy and precision.

OUR PERFECT PARTNER... Franklite has been a member of DIALux since 2016. DIALux offers lighting designers the platform to connect with manufacturers such as ourselves. Through planning, calculating and visualising lighting for indoor and outdoor spaces this software provides solutions to meet all design requirements.

With state-of-the-art production and testing facilities at our factory right in the heart of Milton Keynes, it’s here that our technical team conducts in-house production, testing and assembly of many of our decorative luminaires. Technical

PERFORMANCE & EFFICIENCY Our thermal testing chamber ensures optimal electrical performance and efficiency of our products, including power consumption, efficacy and power factor.

FRANKLED Our LED plates and award winning tuneable light engines are manufactured in-house and compatible with many of our luminaires. All LED products are covered by our 5 year warranty (see franklite.co.uk for details).

What makes our testing process so rigorous is the use of our Rigo Goniophotometer ; cutting edge technology used for the measurement of light emitted from a fitting at different angles. Our photometer allows the fitting to hang as it would in-situ for a more realistic light output than most photometers in use today.
